  • University of Manitoba – Bachelor of Kinesiology (Minor in French)
  • EXOS – EXOS Performance Specialist (Phase 1)
  • Functional Movement Screen Administer (Level 1)

Brittany’s involvement in sport really sparked her interest in human movement and ways to improve her fitness. After completing her degree in kinesiology, she fell in love with helping individuals improve their performance not only in sport, but also in everyday lifestyle.

She has had the opportunity to work with a large scale of athletes from a variety of sports and competitive levels. As well as those everyday individuals looking to improve their lifestyle through fitness.

Her experience in training includes strength and conditioning, power development, speed development, and recovery methods. Brittany has trained one on one, small groups, and large groups, such as sports teams.

You can also occasionally find her on the hockey bench as a team trainer for a range of ages and competitive levels. She still actively plays competitive soccer, and is often called the “Fitness Nerd”.

Trainee Type:

Brittany enjoys working with all individuals, no matter their fitness level. Whatever your goals, she will work with you to help you move better and feel better. From hockey players to soccer moms, from ages 6-60, it is never too early or too late.

Training Philosophy:

Proper movement and form before anything else is key. Each individual is different in the ways they move and in their strengths and weaknesses. If you want to perform well, the small details will make a significant difference in ensuring you are getting the most out of each exercise and your workout overall, as well as preventing potential injury. Brittany is constantly searching for opportunities to increase her knowledge in order to continually improve and help her clients successfully reach their full potential.

Favourite Exercise:

Rear Foot Elevated Squat, especially with dumbbells. Brittany really enjoys the challenge of this exercise because it involves balance, core strength, good posture, and grip strength.

“My fitness journey only started a few years ago, and thanks to Brittany’s encouragement over the past 2 years I have stuck with it. I was never into fitness or sports when I was younger, and the thought of a gym just terrified me. When I came to SVPT in April 2018, at the age of 58, I needed someone who could develop a program to work with my limitations and injuries. I love to travel the world and experience new things, and I wanted to have more energy and strength to take on my crazy adventures. Brittany listened to my goals and what I liked to do (and not do) and found the perfect balance to keep me engaged and moving forward with my fitness goals.

I have made significant progress in the last 2 years and feel heathier and stronger, even though I have had to work through setbacks including a fight with cancer and other medical issues. Each time Brittany was able to reset my program and help me move forward and be better and fitter than before. Today I have more trips planned, I look after my 10-month-old grandson several times a week and I am able to do lots of activities with my family and friends. I have more energy than I ever thought I would have.

I am still working out because Brittny has made it fun, encouraging and she lets me use the rowing machine often, my favourite piece of equipment.”

“I have known Brittany for 2 years and started training with her about 6 months ago. My body structure and self-esteem has risen 100 percent since starting. Brittany is professional, sweet and all round one of the best trainers I have ever used. We coached together in minor hockey and have the same ideas in life. All in all I hope to utilize your facility and keep using Brittany as long as I live in Edmonton.”
